"There are men so godlike, so exceptional, that they naturally, by right of their extraordinary gifts, transcend all moral judgment or constitutional control. There is no law which embraces men of that calibre. They are themselves law."

In the 1950s Ramona Fradon became the artisit for Aquaman. She was one of the few female artists at that time, but her work on Aquaman during the 1950s to 1960s became the standard for Aquaman for many years.

As with most superheroes that have sidekicks, Aquaman was no exception. Ark (a pet seal) was one of the sidekicks Aquaman had during the 1940s. Topo (a pet octopus) showed up in 1956 in Adventure Comics #229.

This series actually had 5 annual editions dated from July 1995-September 1999. Aquaman volume 6 had 39 issues published from February 2003-April 2006.

At that point, Aquaman got redesigned and brought out as "Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis" that had 18 issues from May 2006 to December 2007. To this day Aquaman is still going strong and fans are still celebrating this long running superhero.
