Are Comic books good for anything except to learn how to beat people up?

Is it a good idea to try things at home, if you read about them in the comic books? I used to read Marvel comics and then go to school thinking I was Elastic man from the Fantastic four, or Thor or Spiderman, or The incredible Hulk.
